This folder also contains two pages summarizing the Spanish-American War, a brochure explaining how a Spanish War Veteran comrade was inspired as a school boy to write the Pledge of Allegiance, and the official program for the 79th national encampment of the United Spanish War Veterans and affiliated organizations in Rochester, N.Y., 10-15 September 1977. Contains a six-page history of the Russell A. Alger Auxiliary No. 17 of the Russell A. Alger Camp No. 24, United Spanish War Veterans, written in 1940 by Clarabel E. Palmer, historian. Also, a letter from the Colorado State Soldiers and Sailors Home in 1940 thanking the auxiliary for a donation to their library, and a list of auxiliary presidents 1932-1959.
